We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner with a genuine passion for working with babies and toddlers to join a welcoming nursery team.
In this key role, you will work alongside the Room Leader playing a vital part in fostering each child’s growth and development by creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
The ideal candidate will have a kind and nurturing manner, a strong passion for early years education, and a deep commitment to supporting the wellbeing and development of young children.
You will hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification and have at least one years’ post qualifying experience working within a childcare setting.
This is a Term Time position and hours are negotiable for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare and Education
- Provide a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for babies and young children.
- Contribute to planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
- Monitor and record the progress of each child, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Support children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Health and Safety
- Supervise meals and mealtimes and where appropriate the preparation of babies’ bottles and meals.
- Ensure that the allergy and dietary requirements of all children within the nursery are adhered to.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of the children at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Conduct daily health and safety checks of the room and equipment.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns to the designated safeguarding lead.
- Adhere to all nursery policies and procedures.
Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a cohesive team environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development.
- Support the Room Leader in the daily running of the nursery room.
- Build positive relationships with parents and caregivers.
- Perform any other duties as required by the Room Leader or Nursery Manager.

Qualifications and Experience
✔ NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce or equivalent.
✔ 1 years' post qualification experience in a Pre-school/Nursery Setting (desirable)
✔ A good understanding of the EYFS Framework.
✔ GCSE Maths / English at Grade C or above or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths.
✔ Current Paediatric First Aid certification.
✔ Current Safeguarding certification.
✔ Current COSHH certification.
✔ Current Food and Hygiene certification.
✔ Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
